Emergency Preparedness Partners with Livonia Amateur Radio Club
Communications is the key during an emergency.
The City of Livonia’s Emergency Preparedness Department is proud to partner with the Livonia Amateur Radio Club and recently had the opportunity to host the LARC’s participation in the Michigan QSO Party event at the Livonia Police Department.
This daylong event allows Ham radio operators around the state to exercise their skills and equipment by testing two-way communications with other Ham radio operators throughout the state and nation. Amateur radio provides a way for first responders to continue relaying and receiving vital information even if other sources of communication are down or in-operative.
