Citizen Complaints Against Members of the Livonia Police Department
2020 January – June
Within the first six months of 2020, Livonia Police officers responded to 18,529 calls for service, issued 5,866 citations, and arrested 1,171 individuals. The department received 4 complaints against members of the Livonia Police Department. Each complaint is assigned to a supervisor, who conducts an internal affairs investigation. The result of the investigation is reviewed by the Division Commander. The Division Commander either accepts it as submitted or returns it for additional investigation. Once the Division Commander accepts the investigation, the investigation is submitted to the Chief of Police for final disposition. Of the 4 complaints against members of the Livonia Police Department, three were unfounded and 1 determined the officers were exonerated.
