Citizen Complaints Against Members of the Livonia Police Department
In 2019, Livonia Police officers responded to 59,473 calls for service, issued 30,551 citations, and arrested 4,700 individuals. The department received 17 complaints against members of the Livonia Police Department. Each complaint is assigned to a supervisor, who conducts an internal affairs investigation. The result of the investigation is reviewed by the Division Commander. The Division Commander either accepts it as submitted or returns it for additional investigation. Once the Division Commander accepts the investigation, the investigation is submitted to the Chief of Police for final disposition. Of the 17 complaints against members of the Livonia Police Department, four were sustained; the remaining 13 were determined to be unfounded.
