Protests and Public Gatherings

The right to peacefully protest or assemble is guaranteed, subject to restrictions imposed by law and/or court order (injunction). The police do not take sides, but are sworn to enforce laws and ordinances.

Protests must remain peaceful. Participants must not engage in riotous, disorderly, assaultive, or other obscene behavior.

Looting, malicious destruction of property, vandalism, throwing stones and/or other objects which may inflict harm, as well as other crimes against property are violations of the law. These acts will not be tolerated.

Participants must not interfere with the free flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic.

Alcoholic beverages shall not be consumed on public property. This includes the area behind the curb as well as in a car.

Do not block driveways or walks with cars or participants.

Do not use any parking lot or other private property to park, unless the owner gives permission.

Littering, breaking bottles, etc. is prohibited.

Failure to comply with the order of a police officer is a violation of state law and ordinaces.
